In its deliberate effort to attract investments across the globe, the Nigerian Investment Promotion Commission (NIPC) has resolved to work closely with the Nigerian-British Chambers of Commerce to set up “Trade/Investment Information Centers” in major countries of the world.

The Centers which are to be set up through Public Private Partnership (PPP)) will be mainly to address investors need through the provision of relevant information and guidance in order to attract investments into Nigeria.

The Nigerian Investment Promotion Commission (NIPC) in its avowed commitment to take Nigeria to the future beyond oil has reiterated its determination to work in close collaboration with Foreign Embassies in the country to identify targeted investors to be attracted into the economy, especially in the non-oil sector.

The Nigerian Investment Promotion Commission (NIPC) in its determined effort of taking the country to a "Future beyond Oil" through its ‘Diamond Project' is to partner with the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) to promote investment into the non-oil sector, especially Agro-business.

The Executive Secretary of the Commission, Mrs. Uju Aisha Hassan Baba and the new Trade Commissioner and Managing Director JETRO in Nigeria, Mr.Taku Miyazaki who held a meeting in Abuja on Tuesday agreed that the inflow of FDI from Japan to Nigeria is very low and must be improved upon within the shortest possible time.

The Committee on the review of Nigeria’s model Investment Promotion and Protection Agreement (IPPA) has since commenced review of the document with a view to ensuring that the model provides maximal protection to investors while also addressing Nigeria’s sustainable development objectives. Nigeria’s Inter-Ministerial Committee on Investment Promotion and Protection Agreements (IPPAs) has continued negotiations with a Team of negotiators from Singapore on the proposed IPPA between Nigeria and Singapore. The negotiations which first commenced in 2014 with a Nigerian Team led by the current Executive Secretary / CEO of the Nigerian Investment Promotion Commission (NIPC) Mrs. Uju Aisha Hassan Baba, OON continued in the NIPC premises on July 1 and July 2, 2015. The negotiations are taking cognizance of critical areas being addressed by Nigeria
