The Nigerian Investment Promotion Commission (NIPC) in collaboration with the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) hosted a three day summit – tagged Direct Investors’ Summit Nigeria (DISN) 2018 in Abuja, Nigeria from 21st – 23rd May, 2018.
Preliminary reports indicate that the summit which was themed: “Investment meets opportunities” had in attendance amongst others investors from 4 continents and 14 countries; officials from 28 government agencies, CEOs and captains of industries who engaged within the 3 day period.
The Summit also had in attendance high level representation from government including His Excellency the Vice President of Nigeria, Yemi Osinbajo, Honourable Ministers of industry Trade & Investment, Power, Works & Housing, Budget & National Planning and the Honourable Minister of state for Aviation. Also in attendance were the Governors of Kaduna and Osun state, Deputy Governors of Ogun and Anambra state.
The Summit which kicked off with pre-registration, welcome drinks and canapés on the first day continued on the second day with plenary sessions by the Ministers, Governors, Investors and break out sessions into Agriculture, Manufacturing & Processing, Transport sectors and a dinner to host investors.
The third day of the Summit saw a business to business matchmaking event where investors had the opportunity to meet project promoters from the projects in Agriculture, Manufacturing & Processing, Power and Transportation as profiled by the NIPC.
