The Executive Governor, Cross River State has set up the Cross River State Enabling Business Environment Council (CR-SEBEC) with a mandate to remove critical bottlenecks, constraints to doing business (DB) in the State, as well as improve the State’s DB World Bank Ranking.
During the inauguration of the 20 member team at the Government House, Calabar, he stated that the State was set to make history in the improvement of overall investment climate amongst states in Nigeria. He also charged the Council to streamline, coordinate and provide efficient and effective services to potential and existing investors, to improve the DB ranking in Nigeria.
Nigerian Investment Promotion Commission’s (NIPC) South South representative, Mr Nnamdi Offor encouraged the State to key into the various support structures of the Commission enable the State to be better prepared to receive and retain investments.
In her remarks, Barr Rosemary Tutu Ekeng, Director General, Cross River State Investment Promotion Bureau who also doubles as the Coordinator of CR-SEBEC pledged that Members will work assiduously to move the State to the top list in doing business, adding that her team will work with NIPC to ensure business development and economic growth in the State.
