NIPC Reception

The Nigerian Investment Promotion Commission was established by Nigerian Investment Promotion Act Chapter N117 Laws of the Federation of Nigeria 2004 to encourage, promote and co-ordinate investments in the Nigerian economy. We act as Nigeria's strategic gateway for investors, providing guidance, facilitation, and aftercare services across the priority sectors of Africa's largest economy.

Core Mandates

  • 01

    Investment Promotion

Drive inflows of domestic and foreign direct investment by actively marketing Nigeria's opportunities across priority sectors, showcasing viable projects and making the investment case to global capital.

  • 02

    Investment Facilitation

Serve as a one-stop interface for investors by coordinating approvals, permits, and all relevant government processes through the One-Stop Investment Centre (OSIC).

  • 03

    Policy Advocacy and Reform

Champion reforms that improve the ease of doing business, eliminate regulatory bottlenecks, and strengthen investor confidence, representing investor interests at the highest levels of government.

  • 04

    Investor Protection and Support

Uphold and promote policies that guarantee fair treatment, legal protection, and transparency for all investors, ensuring that the rights guaranteed by the NIPC Act and Nigeria's bilateral investment treaties are upheld in practice.

  • 05

    Partnership Development

Build and strengthen bilateral and multilateral collaborations with local and international stakeholders to expand investment inflows, deepen economic cooperation, and connect Nigerian opportunities to global capital networks.

What Sets the Commission Apart

Key Functions

    Investment Advisory Services

Provide investors with timely, accurate, and sector-specific information, including market intelligence, regulatory briefings, sector opportunity analyses, and market entry strategy guidance, to support informed investment decisions.

    Business Entry Facilitation

Assist investors with business registration, licensing, permits, and all required government approvals through coordinated engagement with relevant authorities via the OSIC in Abuja and Lagos.

    Research and Policy Intelligence

Conduct investment climate assessments, sector analyses, and data-driven insights that guide both investor decision-making and the Commission's own policy advocacy and national planning engagement.

    Sector Promotion

Identify and promote high-impact investment opportunities across agriculture and agro-processing, manufacturing and industrialisation, the digital economy, creative industries, infrastructure, and energy.

    Inter-Agency Coordination

Collaborate closely with Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) to streamline procedures, remove regulatory duplication, and improve the overall investment ecosystem for both incoming and established investors.

    Monitoring and Evaluation

Track investment flows, project implementation progress, and economic impact to ensure alignment with national development goals and to continuously improve service delivery.

Nigeria's investment legal framework is designed to protect investor rights, guarantee non-discriminatory treatment, and provide clear mechanisms for profit repatriation and dispute resolution.
