The Chairman of the Governing Council of NIPC, Rt. Hon. Babangida Nguroje, has pledged to intensify efforts towards expanding his philanthropic work for the benefit of the less privileged and disadvantaged. The former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives made this commitment when he received a Doctorate Degree in Philanthropic Management from the Board of Freedom University and Theological Seminary, Pottstown, United States of America (African Campus), in Abuja.
Dr Nguroje dedicated the award to the less privileged in society, noting that it would spur him to do more for the sake of humanity. He stated: "To whom much is given, much is expected; therefore this award, which is in recognition of my philanthropic activities, has placed more responsibilities on my shoulders and I shall work assiduously to touch more lives in a very positive manner."
He further remarked: "I feel extremely humbled that I am singled out of many for this award. I give thanks to the management of this reputable university and above all I thank God Almighty for this day." The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Yakubu Dogara, was also in attendance, offering encouragement to the university and pledging support for the institution.
