NIPC is focused on building a strong investment promotion agency by strengthening staff capacity through training and exposure, encouraging greater ownership of assigned tasks, and reinforcing accountability, governance, and compliance — all in support of more sustainably delivering its mandate.
The Executive Secretary/CEO, Ms Yewande Sadiku, shared this direction during her introductory remarks at the Commission's quarterly media engagement — "NIPC Meets the Press" — which took place recently. She disclosed that she would personally present at some engagements while other members of the Management Team present at others, to demonstrate the depth of capacity across the Commission.
The second quarterly media engagement was attended by more than 30 media houses. Directors of five departments — Strategic Communications, Investment Promotion, Investor Relations, States Coordination, and Policy Advocacy — each presented on their functions before taking questions on doing business in Nigeria. The presentations will be shared in subsequent bulletins.
NIPC was established by the NIPC Act Chapter N117 Laws of the Federation of Nigeria 2004 to encourage, promote and coordinate investments in the Nigerian economy. The "NIPC Meets the Press" quarterly engagement is designed to inform the public about NIPC's mandate and activities. The next session is scheduled for the third quarter of 2019.
