NIPC ES/CEO Begins North West Working Tour to Engage Subnational Governments

On 9 July 2024, NIPC's Executive Secretary/CEO, Ms Aisha Rimi, commenced a working visit to the North West region of Nigeria. Engaging with subnational governments and key industries, the Commission focused on its initiatives to support new and existing investors, following the launch of the Nigerian Investment Certification Programme for States (NICPS) in Gombe State in May 2024.

Day 1 began with a stop at NIPC's North West Zonal Office to kick-start the mission, followed by a tour of L&Z Integrated Farm, a leading innovator in Nigeria's dairy industry producing fresh milk and various yogurt products, and a visit to Umza Rice Mill, a major rice milling company with a milling capacity of 72,000 metric tonnes per annum.

The delegation also engaged with KanInvest, the Kano State Investment Promotion Agency, toured Gerawa Rice Mill, one of the largest milling plants in the region with a combined capacity of 1,000 metric tonnes per day, and visited Rumbu Industries, a world leader in plastic mat production with a capacity of 7,500 tonnes per year and over 2,000 staff.
