NIPC Hosts JETRO Chairman for Courtesy Visit on Nigeria-Japan Investment Ties

The Nigerian Investment Promotion Commission (NIPC) welcomed Mr N. Shiguro, Chairman and CEO of the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO), and his team for a courtesy visit to discuss opportunities to strengthen bilateral investment relations between Japan and Nigeria.

The meeting, led by Director Mrs Lovina Kayode of NIPC, focused on creating a favourable investment climate in Nigeria, with a special emphasis on Japanese investment in key sectors such as pharmaceuticals, automobiles, infrastructure and incubation. Mr Shiguro shared insights on Japan's long-term commitment to investing in Nigeria, looking ahead to the next 30-40 years.

A highlight of the discussions was an invitation for NIPC's participation in the Osaka Expo, where Nigeria will showcase its investment potential.

Both parties reiterated their shared commitment to attracting more Japanese investments to Nigeria and fostering an even stronger partnership for the future, concluding the visit with a shared vision of deepening collaboration and exploring specific investment opportunities to further boost economic ties.
