JBS S.A. Delegation Begins Fact-Finding Mission on Nigeria's Livestock Sector 01

On 25 February 2025, the Executive Secretary/CEO of NIPC, Ms Aisha Rimi, led a high-level delegation from JBS S.A., one of the world's largest meat processing companies, on a fact-finding mission in Nigeria. The visit follows JBS's initial engagement with NIPC on the sidelines of the G20 Summit in Brazil, where the company expressed strong interest in investing in Nigeria's livestock industry.

During the visit, the delegation met with the Honourable Minister of Livestock Development, Alhaji Idi Mukhtar Maiha, and toured key locations, including supermarkets and local markets, engaging directly with livestock vendors to gain insights to guide its investment decisions.

JBS is exploring the establishment of three integrated poultry farms, two cattle ranches and clusters with a capacity of approximately 200,000 cattle, and a large-scale pig farm, with these investments to be strategically located across Nigeria to drive job creation, food security and economic growth.

From the outset, NIPC has played a pivotal role in facilitating JBS's investment process, positioning Nigeria as a prime destination for agribusiness expansion.
