On 25 February 2025, Ms Aisha Rimi, Executive Secretary/CEO of NIPC, met with Mr Seun Suleiman, the Managing Director of Siemens Energy Ltd. During the meeting, Mr Suleiman expressed his gratitude for the pivotal role NIPC played in facilitating their participation in the bilateral meeting between the German government and President Bola Tinubu, which took place on 11 December 2024 at the Presidential Villa.
He highlighted that it was NIPC's invitation to the bilateral meeting that expedited the approval of a significant ₦263 billion deal aimed at rehabilitating Nigeria's grid infrastructure.
The project encompasses engineering, procurement, construction and financing of essential power infrastructure, including 330/132kV and 33kV substations in Onitsha, Offa, Abeokuta, Ayede and Sokoto.
This collaboration underscores the strategic importance of NIPC's involvement in creating pathways for impactful international partnerships that drive sustainable development in Nigeria's power sector.
