At the Benin-Nigeria Business and Investment Forum, the Nigerian Investment Promotion Commission (NIPC) took another bold step in strengthening regional investment ties and opening up shared prosperity across West Africa.
Held in Abuja, the forum spotlighted new investment opportunities, pro-business reforms, and the power of regional collaboration to drive sustainable growth. Representing the Executive Secretary/CEO, Ms Aisha Rimi, NIPC's Director of Policy Advocacy, Mr Abayomi Salami, emphasised that policy coordination, information sharing, and cross-border collaboration are critical to Africa's investment future.
The following day, a seven-member delegation from Benin's Investment Promotion Agency (APIEx) visited NIPC headquarters, where both agencies signed a memorandum of understanding to facilitate two-way investment flows, strengthen cooperation, and deepen information exchange between Nigeria and the Republic of Benin.
The Benin delegation also proposed direct flights between Abuja and Cotonou, a move that could transform business travel, connectivity and investor confidence across the corridor. NIPC remains committed to driving regional partnerships, supporting investors, and positioning Nigeria as a gateway for cross-border investment in West Africa.
