A major step forward for clean energy and industrial growth: the Honourable Minister of State for Industry, Trade and Investment, Senator John Owan Enoh, has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Asia Economic Development Committee (AEDC), South Korea, paving the way for electric vehicle (EV) and solar equipment manufacturing in Nigeria.
Led by its Chairman, Mr Yoon Suk-hun, the AEDC delegation confirmed plans to establish EV manufacturing and solar power plants, opening up opportunities for technology transfer, local capacity building and value-chain development, while drawing on Nigeria's lithium resources to drive the green transition.
The partnership underscores Nigeria's push toward industrialisation, reduced carbon emissions and sustainable economic growth, with the Nigerian Investment Promotion Commission (NIPC) playing an important role in facilitating investment, policy advocacy and incentives to make Nigeria a competitive destination for green manufacturing.
NIPC was represented by Mr Abayomi Salami, Director, Policy Advocacy, and Mr Shettima Gana Mohammed of Incentives Administration. The future is electric, and Nigeria is ready.
