The Federal Republic of Nigeria has officially signed the Host Country Agreement to host the 5th edition of the Intra-African Trade Fair 2027 (IATF2027), taking over from Algeria, which hosted the previous edition that generated an impressive $49.94 billion in trade and investment deals.
Set to take place in Lagos from 5–11 November 2027, the fair is expected to welcome over 100,000 visitors and 2,500 exhibitors from more than 100 countries, with a target of $50 billion in deals, under the theme "Global Africa, Smart Trade – From Market Access to Market Power."
Organised by the African Export-Import Bank, the African Union Commission and the African Continental Free Trade Area Secretariat, the fair is one of the continent's most powerful platforms for opening up trade, investment and collaboration across Africa. For Nigeria, it is more than hosting a global event: it is about strengthening Africa's single market and positioning the country as a gateway for investment into the continent.
At the signing ceremony, Nigeria was represented by key stakeholders including the Nigerian Investment Promotion Commission (NIPC), with Southwest Zonal Head Mrs Ololade Okeowo in attendance, reaffirming the Commission's commitment to promoting Nigeria as Africa's leading investment destination.
