The Nigerian Investment Promotion Commission (NIPC) joined key stakeholders at a high-level international roundtable on reimagining Nigeria's immigration and border management systems, held in Lagos.
Convened by the Nigerian-American Chamber of Commerce in collaboration with the Nigeria Immigration Service, the conversation centred on opening up smarter, more secure, and investment-friendly borders under the theme 'Deconstructing Immigration and Border Management Governance and Policy Reforms in Nigeria'.
Representing NIPC, Mrs Edith Udo-Udofia (Deputy Director, Policy Advocacy) and Mr Peter Iyoke (Service Provider, Investor Relations) spotlighted practical pathways to bridge infrastructure gaps at remote borders, while exploring how artificial intelligence can power Nigeria's Smart Border vision.
Stronger border systems do more than enhance security: they boost investor confidence, ease of doing business, and position Nigeria as a globally competitive investment destination. NIPC continues to help shape policies that drive sustainable growth and open doors for opportunity.
