Nigeria's leather and fashion industries are rich in talent, creativity and untapped investment potential. The opportunity now is to turn that potential into competitive businesses, stronger value chains and access to global markets.
At the National Leather and Fashion B2B Summit and Fair, held in Jos from 14–17 September 2026, stakeholders came together under the theme "Leather and Fashion Beyond Borders: Driving Innovation, Commercialization and Global Market Access for Economic Reform".
Representing the Nigerian Investment Promotion Commission (NIPC), Mr Emmanuel Longza, Head of Investment Promotion, served as a resource person. He presented "Building an Enabling Business Environment for Nigeria's Leather and Fashion Industry through Sustainable Financing, Strategic Partnerships and Government Incentives".
The message was clear: investment thrives where opportunity meets an enabling business environment.
From access to finance and government incentives to business formalisation, strategic partnerships, technology adoption and investment readiness, NIPC highlighted pathways for businesses to scale and connect with domestic, AfCFTA and international markets.
NIPC's participation, coordinated by the North Central Zonal Office, went beyond the conversations. It opened doors to potential investment, partnerships, supply-chain connections and market linkages across the leather and fashion value chains, while B2B engagement forms captured businesses, investment interests and partnership opportunities.
This is what investment promotion looks like in action: connecting ideas to capital, businesses to opportunities, and Nigeria's industries to the world.
The future of Nigerian leather and fashion is not only about what we make. It is about how far we can take it.
