The Executive Secretary of NIPC, Ms Yewande Sadiku, led the NIPC team on a courtesy call on the Executive Chairman of the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS), Mr Mohammed M. Nami, on 27 August 2020. The visit was aimed at strengthening the long-standing institutional relationship between FIRS and NIPC.
At the meeting, both Chief Executives discussed areas of mutual interest, exchanging views on Nigeria's economic development, investment incentives, and institutional cooperation. They acknowledged recent reforms in the administration of the Pioneer Status Incentive (PSI) and agreed that a Technical Committee comprising staff of both agencies should, amongst other things, advance work on PSI reform and the review of the Industrial Development (Income Tax Relief) Act, which they acknowledged is no longer in tune with current realities.
