NIPC Establishes Anti-Corruption and Transparency Unit (ACTU)

NIPC Reception

NIPC's chapter of the Anti-Corruption and Transparency Unit (ACTU) has been inaugurated by the Commission's Management in conjunction with the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC).

ACTU is a unit established by the ICPC in 2001 as one of the implementation mechanisms for its mandate on the prohibition and prevention of corruption, particularly in the public service. In NIPC, the Unit is expected to monitor compliance, promote ethics and integrity, and support the Commission's commitment to zero tolerance for corruption.

In her welcome address, NIPC's Executive Secretary/CEO, Ms Yewande Sadiku, expressed her confidence in NIPC's ACTU and assured the Unit of the full support of Management. NIPC's ACTU is chaired by Mrs Uchenna Okonkwo, with Hajjia Asmao Ndayako as Vice-Chairman. Their tenure will run for three years.
