The Executive Secretary/CEO of NIPC, Ms Yewande Sadiku, visited the Nigeria Governors' Forum (NGF) on 19 October 2020 to meet with the Director-General, Mr Asishana Okauru, to deepen the institutional relationship and explore further cooperation to accelerate investments at the subnational level — building on the recently published Book of States, which both agencies collaborated on.
Ms Sadiku stated that the Book of States is only a foundation for further initiatives to support domestic direct investment (DDI) — which can in turn encourage and trigger foreign direct investment (FDI). She emphasised NIPC's intention to use the publication as a platform for a broader programme of subnational investment promotion.
The meeting discussed plans to serialise the Book of States in the NIPC Intelligence Newsletter to give greater visibility to investment prospects across all states. It also covered collaboration on reviving moribund state-owned enterprises, elevating the visibility of successful companies, and boosting economic activity in the states.
