RIBS Investment: Offor Assures Ekiti State of NIPC's Support at Fountain Summit

NIPC Reception

Acting Executive Secretary/CEO of NIPC, Mr Emeka Offor, assured the Ekiti State government of NIPC's support in driving Responsible, Inclusive, Balanced and Sustainable (RIBS) investments to the State at the maiden Fountain Summit 2021 in Ado-Ekiti.

"Sub-national governments need to be deliberate in their investment attraction and retention approach to maintain a competitive edge. Due to increasing global competition for capital occasioned by the devastating impact of COVID-19, the efforts of sub-national governments are now more critical to ensuring Nigeria remains a destination of choice for investment," Mr Offor stated.

He highlighted two key NIPC tools for subnational investment promotion: the Nigerian Investment Certification Programme for States (NICPS), which builds the capacity of states to provide effective facilitation and after-care support to investors; and the Book of States — produced in collaboration with the Nigerian Governors' Forum — which serves as a benchmarking tool for investors identifying locations within Nigeria.

The Summit was declared open by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo and was also attended by Governors Nasir El-Rufai, Babajide Sanwo-Olu and Godwin Obaseki, as well as the Honourable Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Otunba Niyi Adebayo, who delivered a goodwill message. Ekiti State's Honourable Governor Kayode Fayemi hosted the event.
