PAK-Africa 2.0 Trade Conference Rounds Off in Lagos

The 2nd Pakistani-Africa (PAK-Africa) Trade Development Conference and Expo concluded in Lagos with several Pakistani investors expressing strong interest in doing business in Nigeria. The three-day event opened with a conference featuring senior government officials from both Nigeria and Pakistan who spoke on economic relations and investment prospects.

NIPC presented Nigeria's investment environment and the Commission's investor facilitation provisions at the conference. NIPC's Director of Investment Promotion, Mr Adeshina Emmanuel, highlighted SWIP (Single Window Investors' Portal) as one of several initiatives set up to facilitate doing business in Nigeria, noting that services offered at NIPC's One Stop Investment Centre (OSIC) can now be accessed online.

Pakistani companies seeking business partnerships in Nigeria exhibited products and services across several sectors including IT, engineering, agriculture, pharmaceuticals, textiles, chemicals, automobiles, leather, surgical products, and cosmetics. The 2nd and 3rd days of the event were designated for business-to-business (B2B) partnership formation. Acting ES/CEO Mr Emeka Offor held a meeting on the sidelines of the event with H.E. Abdul Razak Dawood, Adviser to the Prime Minister of Pakistan on Commerce and Investment.
