As part of activities marking the 13th National Council meeting on Industry, Trade and Investment (NCITI), NIPC joined its counterparts under the Federal Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment to flag off a sensitisation campaign for the patronage of made-in-Nigeria products and services in the South-West zone of the country.
The Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Otunba Niyi Adebayo, flagged off the campaign, noting that it is part of the Federal Government's Economic Recovery and Growth Plan (ERGP) Strategy and National Economic Sustainability Programme (NESP) designed to reposition Nigeria's economy. The Minister stated that patronage of locally made products would create more jobs, promote indigenous products, reduce poverty, and boost the development of MSMEs across the country.
Ekiti State Governor Kayode Fayemi stated that his government had earmarked over 50,000 hectares of land for agriculture and agri-business opportunities, and that the State's Special Agro-Industrial Processing Zone would serve as a platform to improve agricultural productivity and drive job creation. Ag. ES/CEO NIPC, Mr Emeka Offor, participated alongside other heads of parastatals under the Ministry.
