The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has cleared former NIPC Executive Secretary/CEO Yewande Sadiku of all corruption allegations levelled against her. In a letter dated 16 December 2021, the ICPC stated that after careful investigation, it found that Sadiku was not guilty of any crime.
The petitions had alleged fraudulent abuse of office, mismanagement of public funds through excessive travel, foreign trips taken without the approval of the Governing Council, the use of Commission funds to repair a personal vehicle, and the receipt of illegal foreign leave allowances. The ICPC's letter stated: "Upon investigation, none of these allegations was established, and the striking out of suit No FAC/ABJ/CS/249/2019 by his Lordship Hon. Justice A.R. Mohammed of the Federal High Court of Nigeria, Abuja Division, brings the investigation to a close."
NIPC had previously denied any wrongdoing on the part of Sadiku when she was being probed by the EFCC over related corruption allegations in August 2021, affirming at the time that she had voluntarily honoured an invitation and was neither arrested nor detained.
