NIPC Presents Commendation Letter to BUA Group at Sokoto Cement Plant Launch

NIPC Reception

NIPC presented a commendation letter to the BUA Group at the launch of a three million metric tonnes per annum cement plant in Sokoto. The letter, presented by NIPC's Director of Policy Advocacy, Mr John Oseji, read in part: "The Commission commends the Chairman on this laudable investment because of its immense contribution to the industrialisation of the country, conservation of foreign exchange, and employment and income development."

The Sokoto plant — the 4th cement facility commissioned by BUA Group — is primarily engaged in quarrying, extracting, processing, dealing in limestone, and the manufacture and supply of cement. BUA Group Chairman AbdulSamad Rabiu announced a total project cost of $1.05 billion for its new production lines, which would be completed by end-2022. President Buhari commended BUA Group's resolve and affirmed the administration's commitment to delivering on promises to ease the business environment.

CBN Governor Godwin Emefiele also lauded BUA Group for its investment activities, particularly noting that the entire Line 4 project was singularly funded by the Group — a demonstration of private-sector confidence in Nigeria's industrial potential.
