The Nigerian Indonesian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (NICCI) has invited NIPC to co-host a Trade and Investment Forum in Jakarta, Indonesia, planned for March 2022. The Indonesian Government recently concluded plans to prioritise Nigeria as its primary investment destination in Africa for the period 2022–2026.
NICCI President Mr Ishmael Balogun described Indonesia as a diversified powerhouse economy in oil and gas, agriculture, manufacturing and technology, and noted the strategic importance of a Nigeria–Indonesia alliance — particularly in light of the Nigerian Government's National Development Plan (2021–2025), which seeks N348.1 trillion in investment with over 80% expected from the private sector.
He described opportunities in Nigeria as large and untapped, spanning oil and gas, renewable energy, digital economy, aquaculture, agriculture, robotics, aviation, defence, and pharmaceuticals. NIPC's Ag. ES/CEO Mr Emeka Offor expressed strong support for the partnership to organise and host the Nigeria-Indonesia Investment and Trade Forum 2022.
