HSF Foods Launches 1,800MT/y Cashew Processing Factory in Abuja

NIPC Reception

HSF Foods Limited has launched an automated cashew and oil processing factory in the Idu Industrial Zone, Abuja. Managed by 27-year-old Said Umar, HSF states that it is the largest mechanised cashew processing factory in Abuja and one of the largest in the country, with a capacity of 1,800 metric tonnes per year — expandable to 3,600MT with night shift operations.

NIPC's Ag. Executive Secretary/CEO Mr Emeka Offor, who was guest of honour at the commissioning, congratulated HSF and affirmed NIPC's commitment to working closely with the company to sustain the project. He noted that cashew is one of five priority agro-industrial products under the Nigerian Export Promotion Council's National Strategic Export Products (NSEP) programme, and that Nigeria offers up to a five-year tax holiday including zero export and import duty on agricultural inputs and equipment for cashew investors.

HSF Foods was founded to tackle shortfalls in the agricultural value chain and produces cashew kernels of various grades as well as cashew nut shell liquid (CNSL).
