NIPC and the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ)-SEDIN have signed a partnership arrangement to jointly develop and implement measures aimed at improving the framework for promoting Nigeria's investment prospects at both the national and subnational levels. NIPC's Ag. Executive Secretary Mr Emeka Offor signed on behalf of NIPC and GIZ-SEDIN's Head of Programme Mr Markus Wauschkuhn signed for GIZ at the signing ceremony held at NIPC headquarters.
The partnership will focus on packaging information on investment incentives across Nigeria, strengthening subnational investment promotion infrastructure, and rolling out the Nigerian Investment Certification Programme for States (NICPS) across all 36 states. It will also strengthen linkages and knowledge sharing between states and the Federal Government on investment climate improvement, and provide a platform for policy engagement through the National Conference on Investment for States (NCIS).
"At NIPC we understand that capital mobilisation is an all-inclusive activity that requires synergy among relevant organisations to create the platform for the interaction of investment opportunities with potential investors," said Mr Offor, who also lauded GIZ as a long-standing partner. The collaboration focuses on SEDIN and the Nigeria Competitiveness Project (NICOP) focal states: Abia, Edo, Kaduna, Kano, Lagos, Ogun, Oyo, and Plateau.
