Edo State Governor Godwin Obaseki and his team travelled to Germany for discussions with key Ministries, Departments and Agencies of the German Government on areas of mutual collaboration. The visit, facilitated by GIZ, the German development agency, had been in preparation for some time.
"I continued engagements with top government officials in Germany and met with various members of the German Parliament and the Association of German Chambers of Industry and Commerce (DHK). We visited the German Foreign Office, where I met with Minister of State Ms Katja Keul, and highlighted the need to further the potential for collaboration on regular migration for skilled workforce from Edo State and Nigeria," said Governor Obaseki.
The meetings, facilitated by GIZ-Skye, aimed to strengthen existing partnerships between both governments in job creation, youth development, arts and culture, and investment in industries and the productive sector. Edo State prides itself as one of the most competitive and investment-friendly subnational governments in Nigeria, having consistently engaged GIZ and other international development partners to promote economic development.
