NIPC and NACCIMA Partner DEIK Towards Attracting Turkish Investment to Nigeria

NIPC Reception

NIPC and the Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (NACCIMA) have opened talks with the Foreign Economic Relations Board of Türkiye (DEIK) on attracting Turkish investments in energy, food processing, fintech, project financing, health, and PPPs. The talks took place during the recent D-8 Summit in Istanbul.

The three parties agreed to stage quarterly Business Investment Forums across Türkiye to acquaint the Turkish business community with Nigeria's investment opportunities. NIPC will facilitate smooth entry for Turkish investors into Nigeria, provide aftercare services to Turkish businesses already operating in the country, and formulate a roadmap for 2022 and 2023 for robust engagement and sensitisation of the Turkish business community. NIPC will also initiate an MOU to formalise the process.

DEIK consists of 149 Business Councils and is responsible for managing the foreign economic relations of the Turkish private sector, including foreign trade, international investments, services, contracting and logistics. The D-8 Summit attracted participation from 7 Economic Ministers and all Investment Promotion Agencies of member nations. NIPC's Ag. ES/CEO Mr Emeka Offor pitched Nigeria's investment prospects to investors at the Summit.
