Nigeria and Portugal Deepen Investment Relations as NIPC Signs MoU with AICEP

NIPC Reception

NIPC, in collaboration with Portugal's trade and investment promotion agency AICEP, the Nigerian Embassy in Portugal, and Diplomatic Vista, organised a Business and Investment Forum (BIF) on 30 June 2022, on the margins of President Muhammadu Buhari's State Visit to Portugal.

At the Forum, NIPC's Ag. ES/CEO Mr Emeka Offor signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the CEO of AICEP in the presence of the Presidents of both Nigeria and Portugal, the Ministers of Foreign Affairs and Industry, Trade and Investment, and other dignitaries. Mr Offor pitched Nigeria's investment prospects and invited Portuguese investors to Nigeria, assuring them of NIPC's handholding support throughout their investment journey.

President Buhari commended NIPC and directed the establishment of a working committee comprising the Honourable Ministers of Information and Culture, Industry, Trade and Investment, and Foreign Affairs to deepen the relationship and drive more investment into Nigeria. Portuguese President Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa thanked NIPC and AICEP for organising the forum and urged both agencies to work towards achieving the objectives of the newly formed partnership.
