On 24 January 2024, NIPC's Executive Secretary/CEO, Ms Aisha Rimi, paid a working visit to His Excellency, Governor Abiodun Oyebanji, at the Ekiti State Government House, Ado-Ekiti, to kick-start the Nigerian Investment Certification Programme for States (NICPS) for the year, with Ekiti one of three states selected to pilot the programme, supported by NIPC and UNDP.
Ekiti boasts the highest number of PhDs per capita in Nigeria, reflecting its commitment to education and knowledge; possesses vast arable land and a dedicated agriculture processing zone, positioning it as a hub for agricultural innovation; and is an emerging eco-tourism destination, home to attractions such as the Ikogosi Warm Springs Resort, Arinta Waterfalls and Olosunta Hills.
The NICPS initiative aims to enhance Ekiti's speed of delivery to investors, fostering an environment that is welcoming and conducive to business growth, with NIPC committed to supporting the state's transformation into an investor-friendly destination.
