The CEOs of the Investment Promotion Agencies of ECOWAS Member States gathered for the IPAWAS General Assembly on 18–19 September 2024 in Banjul, The Gambia, where a new Statute was adopted to enhance regional collaboration on cross-border investment.
At the assembly, Ms Aisha Rimi, Executive Secretary/CEO of NIPC, was elected as the new President of IPAWAS, with Mr Alexandrino Anes of Cabo Verde TradeInvest as Vice President and Mr Bakary Sega Bathily of APIX-Senegal as Secretary General.
Under Ms Rimi's leadership, IPAWAS members aim to revitalise the ECOWAS investment landscape, deepening cooperation among regional investment promotion agencies to attract and facilitate cross-border investment across West Africa.
