NIPC Joins Nigeria Mining Week 2024 01

On 18 November 2024, the 9th edition of the Nigeria Mining Week (NMW 2024) kicked off at the Abuja Continental Hotel, Abuja. The three-day event, running from 18 to 20 November, is hosted by the Miners Association of Nigeria in partnership with the Federal Ministry of Solid Minerals Development and PwC.

Held under the theme 'From the Inside-Out: Building the Mining Sector to be the Cornerstone of Nigeria's Economy', the event brought together stakeholders from across the mining sector for presentations, discussions and strategic sessions aimed at setting the stage for sustainable growth in Nigeria's solid minerals sector.

Highlights included a keynote address by the Permanent Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Solid Minerals Development, Dr Mary Ogbe, and a presentation by Mr Emmanuel Longza, Deputy Director of Extractives at NIPC, on 'Boosting Mineral Exploration in Nigeria'.

The NIPC team in attendance included Ms Florence Njegbu, Assistant Director, Investment Promotion; Ms Jane Uzoegwu, Chief Investment Officer, Investment Promotion; and Mr Salisu Halilu, Service Provider, Investment Promotion.

The event also featured discussions on investment opportunities and incentives in the Nigerian mining sector, with participation from industry stakeholders including NEITI, NEPC, SMDF and NGS.
