Forging Strategic Partnerships for Investment Growth in Abia State 01

On 20 November 2024, Mr Eric Ugochukwu Ani, Head of the South East Zonal Office (SEZO), alongside Mr Okeke Nchege, Abia State Desk Officer for SEZO, paid a courtesy visit to the Honourable Commissioner for Trade and Commerce, Mr Kingsley Chibueze Nwokocha, at his office in Umuahia.

The visit was driven by a shared commitment to educate the Commissioner and his team on the mandates and activities of the Nigerian Investment Promotion Commission (NIPC), strengthen ties between NIPC and the Abia State Government to foster mutual growth, and establish an effective framework for collaboration aimed at attracting high-value investments into Abia State.

The Honourable Commissioner, supported by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Mrs Magdalene Onwu, the Director of Investments, Mrs Lois Abalogu, and other senior staff, welcomed the NIPC delegation.

Key moments from the visit included a detailed presentation by Mr Ani on NIPC's mandates and activities; an acknowledgement from the Honourable Commissioner, who expressed gratitude and sought NIPC's expertise in crafting an Investment Policy for Abia State; and a collaborative proposal from the Permanent Secretary to establish an Investment Promotion Agency for the state with NIPC's guidance.

The Ministry reiterated its readiness to work closely with NIPC to enhance the state's investment climate and attract sustainable economic opportunities.

This partnership marks a pivotal step in developing Abia State's investment potential and driving long-term economic transformation.
