The Nigerian Investment Promotion Commission (NIPC) participated in the National Dialogue on Promoting Sustainable and Responsible Business Practices for Decent Work in Nigeria, held from 27-28 May 2025 at the BON Hotel, Abuja.
Representing NIPC, Mr Emmanuel W. Longza, Deputy Director of Investment Promotion, featured as a panelist to spotlight the role of Investment Promotion Agencies (IPAs) in driving decent work and aligning investment strategies with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Mr Longza emphasised NIPC's commitment to investments that are Responsible, Inclusive, Balanced and Sustainable (RIBS), ensuring social impact, decent jobs, and strong alignment with national development goals and ESG principles. He also highlighted reforms in the Pioneer Status Incentive (PSI), ensuring incentives go only to companies demonstrating strong Responsible Business Conduct, including quality employment, upskilling and impactful corporate social responsibility.
Organised by the International Labour Organization (ILO) and the Government of France in partnership with Nigeria, the dialogue brought together public and private sector stakeholders, and included a courtesy visit by the ILO Geneva team to NIPC Headquarters, reaffirming the need for continued collaboration.
