South Africa's DITC Pays Strategic Visit to NIPC 01

On 7 July 2025, NIPC hosted a high-level delegation from South Africa's Department of Trade, Industry and Competition (DITC), led by Mr Calvin Phume, in a visit that served as a key follow-up to the outcomes of the 11th South Africa-Nigeria Bi-National Commission (BNC). Representatives from the South African High Commission and MTN were also part of the mission, received by Hajja Gana Wakil, NIPC's Director of Investment Promotion, alongside NIPC directors and senior officials.

The engagement focused on exploring joint investment opportunities, advancing the Memorandum of Understanding between NIPC and InvestSA, and strengthening preparations for the Nigeria-South Africa Trade and Investment Forum, sponsored by MTN.

The collaboration extended to productive sessions with Nigeria's Ministry of Foreign Affairs and key South African institutions, focusing on mining, agriculture, and the digital economy. NIPC views the visit as a significant step toward deepening bilateral ties, opening up new investment pathways, and strengthening private sector partnerships across both nations.
