The Nigerian Investment Promotion Commission (NIPC) hosted a joint Capacity Development Mission from the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) and the International Monetary Fund (IMF), focused on strengthening the administration of tax incentives in Nigeria.
The session was led on the NIPC side by Mrs Uchenna Okonkwo, who briefed the mission on the Commission's role in administering key incentives, including the Pioneer Status Incentive (PSI) and the Economic Development Incentive (EDI).
Discussions covered the application process, eligibility criteria, monitoring and compliance frameworks for both incentives, as well as opportunities to improve coordination between NIPC and FIRS in tracking the impact of incentives granted to investors.
The engagement reflects NIPC's continued collaboration with FIRS and international partners to ensure that Nigeria's tax incentive regime remains transparent, well-administered and effective in attracting quality investment.
