From 25-27 August 2025, a joint delegation of the Nigerian Investment Promotion Commission (NIPC) and the China Overseas Engineering Corporation (COVEC) embarked on a three-day working visit to Oyo State to advance discussions on the proposed COVEC Agricultural Integration Park.
Led by Mr Abubakar Yerima, Director of Strategic Services at NIPC, the team engaged with the Oyo State Government, development agencies, traditional institutions, and the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA).
The visit featured a courtesy call on the Deputy Governor of Oyo State, site inspections at key agribusiness transformation hubs, an assessment of the Ikere Gorge Dam for large-scale irrigation potential, and engagement with IITA on research, technology transfer and capacity building.
This mission underscores NIPC's strategic role in fostering partnerships, driving agricultural transformation, and positioning Nigeria as a prime investment destination in agribusiness.
