From 16–19 September 2025, the Technical Committee of the Investment Promotion Agencies of West African States (IPAWAS) met in Praia, Cabo Verde, to strengthen cooperation and chart bold strategies for investment promotion across the region.
Representing Nigeria, Mr Abayomi Salami, Director of Policy Advocacy at NIPC, chaired the session and presented progress on the implementation of the new IPAWAS Statute, while members agreed on key strategies to boost collaboration, digitalisation, and investment attraction in West Africa.
Under the leadership of the NIPC Executive Secretary/CEO, current Chairperson of IPAWAS, the association has recorded remarkable milestones, including the adoption of a new Statute, restructuring and re-registration in Nigeria, corporate branding, reactivation of its bank account, and ongoing development of a regional website.
With renewed energy, IPAWAS is positioning West Africa as a competitive hub for intra-African and foreign direct investment, driving growth and economic transformation.
