The Nigerian Investment Promotion Commission (NIPC) facilitated a high-level meeting between the Honourable Minister of State, Federal Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment, Senator John Owan Enoh, and eSite Power Systems, a leading Swedish company specialising in telecom site power management and advanced battery storage solutions.
Led by Ms Aisha Rimi, Executive Secretary/CEO, and Mrs Lovina Kayode, Director of Investor Relations, the meeting explored eSite's plans to establish a battery assembly facility in Nigeria, a project that directly supports the Federal Government's energy transition agenda and ongoing efforts to decarbonise telecom infrastructure nationwide.
With over 40,000 telecom towers across Nigeria, many still dependent on fossil fuels, this investment could localise clean energy solutions, create over 350 direct jobs, and position Nigeria as a regional hub for battery technology and sustainable energy innovation.
The engagement also convened key stakeholders from the Nigerian Export Promotion Council (NEPC), the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC), the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), and the Nigeria Export Processing Zones Authority (NEPZA) to explore investment facilitation, incentive structures and regulatory collaboration.
